I just discovered that group names can have aliases (by entering multivalue, semi-colon separated values).

I am proposing to use a multivalue computed reader field with a value based on the country of a client with a formula like:
client_Country + " Sales" : "[Admin]"
As we deal with lots of countries, I don't want to have groups for each country to indicate which staff can edit those documents, so it seems like a simple solution to create aliased groups.
So the sales staff in our USA office would be in a group called "USA Sales; Canada Sales; Mexico Sales" and they would automatically gain access to documents where the client_Country field is either "USA", "Mexico" or "Canada".
I've not found this approach described anywhere, and wondered if anyone else had tried it, and more importantly, if it works!
Thanks in advance,
Phil
